YOUR view on 7

i just got 7 x64(7100) installed on a 50GB partition, and to tell the truth, it made me miss XP...
maybe it's because i'm too used to XP, but to be honest, i think it's because i got too used to 98 back then =P (i still use the classic start menu in xp)
i keep feeling that i don't know what the fuck i'm doing, it's like... err... trying to make some slimy mass be shaped or something like that.
especially the control panel and windows explorer(i never use the folders side bar from the explorer)
other than the fact that it made my head hurt in confusion and stuff, it felt really smooth and "modern-ish"

i would like it a lot more if it was easier for me to manage it...
but well, i didn't touch vista either, and i'm pretty sure i'll be as lost with it as i am with 7.

and the start bar with all those features was pretty cool actually, i loved the pinning stuff(though hated that the menu opened over the bar and not in it)

well, that's my view on 7, what's yours?

For me it was an easy transition, probably because I come from using Vista. I know going from xp to vista took me a couple of attempts but after using vista for a while now i wouldn't think of going back to xp. Win 7 for me has the same feel as vista so that's probably why I like it and will be getting it when it is out. It's like vista but very refined. I would imagine xp to win 7 an easier transition for most because even in its beta's it was a good OS. I kinda think of Win 7 as a Vista 2nd edition. All that said though I do think 7 is very nice.

IMHO It's still Vista, just another version and a new name. Admittedly the permission prompts are better tho.

My real bitch on Win7 after legitimately purchasing a full copy of Vista Ultimate is; Why the hell can't we install the Vista Ultimate extras? As limited as they actually turned out to be, I do enjoy Hold 'em and Dreamscene.

My biggest bitch is the fact that there's no upgrade for Vista users. If MS are more or less writing off Vista, where's our free upgrade for all the time spent beta testing for them?!

I'll probably end up buying an OEM copy when I rebuild this rig, but that won't be before Christmas at this rate...
